Woolly distaff thistle (Carthamus lanatus) is one of two "Class A" rated weeds in Douglas County. Oregon's Department of Agriculture makes this "Class A" designation as "A weed of known economic importance which occurs in the state in small enough infestations to make eradication or containment possible."
